A note from James, who used to check beds for Silentnight
OTTY answers the phone on 01133 202 490. That is a Leeds-area 0113 number. The inbox is cs@otty.com. They are a UK company, and the handmade Natural beds are made in this country. OTTY does not print a “made in” line on the boxed hybrid product pages, so we cannot tell you where those are built.
What they actually sell, on the live hybrid collection I checked on , is six vacuum-packed hybrids and a couple of things that look like extras in the same shop. Original Ice is a cooling cover on Original rather than a separate mattress. Natural Origin and Natural Evolve are handmade and dearer, and sit outside the boxed range.
If you want the short version before the cards: try Original. Step to Pure only if you wanted charcoal foam. Do not buy Aura as a master bed to save £150. Do not buy Extra Firm because the word Firm sounded responsible.
OTTY at a glance
Quick verdict: is OTTY worth it in 2026?
Yes, if you will actually use a 100-night trial and you start on Original. I would order the Original Hybrid for a typical UK couple who want bounce under foam, a knitted cover, and a size picker that still includes small double, EU and Emperor. One star rating for the whole shop would tell you nothing — Extra Firm is a 4.0 for people who asked for hard, and Aura is a 4.1 guest bed.
What I would keep
- Original Hybrid is a clear default — 4.4, from £499.99, the size picker most people actually need
- Six boxed hybrids with honest feel gaps, not six stickers on one core
- 100-night trial with free collection if you send it back
- 10-year warranty on the boxed range we reviewed
- Free 2-man delivery advertised on the boxed hybrids
- 0% finance advertised via Zopa and DivideBuy over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months
- A real UK phone number (Leeds-area 0113) and a human inbox
- Handmade Natural Origin and Evolve exist if you wanted cotton or wool, not a box
What I would not hide
- The home trial is 100 nights — half Emma, Eve and Simba, and a long way short of Nectar’s year
- Aura and Extra Firm do not list a UK small double; Pure+ does not either
- Extra Firm will punish a side sleeper — Emma Thompson lasted one bad night and wanted it gone
- Room-of-choice and old-mattress removal are extras at checkout, not part of the free 2-man van
- OTTY’s own Aura page cannot decide between 6/10 and 6.5/10 firmness
- Sale codes die. DREAMY26 was live on 5 September 2026. It may not be tomorrow

Handmade Natural, and Original Ice
Natural Origin and Natural Evolve
These are not boxed hybrids. They are a separate handmade UK collection. If you landed here from a wool search, do not buy Aura because it is in a vacuum bag.
Natural Origin — cotton, handmade UK, about £815, around 8/10. The quieter, simpler natural bed.
Natural Evolve — wool, cashmere and silk, handmade UK, about £915, around 7/10. Dearer fabric, not automatically a better night than Origin.
I have not lived with either one long-term. They sit next to the boxed range in the shop. They are not step seven and eight on a spring-count ladder.
Original Ice is a cover
Original Ice is OTTY selling a cooler cover on the Original Hybrid. It is the same mattress with a different lid, so we do not review it separately. If you sleep hot on the knitted Original, look at Ice on the live Original product page, then still use the trial.
A 13.5 tog duvet in a 22°C UK bedroom will still win if you let it. No cover turns a hybrid into air-con. I run hot. I would try Ice before I talked myself into Pure+ because 4,000 sounded cold.

OTTY boxed range: six reviews, two collections
Aura, Original and Extra Firm are the standard boxed hybrids. Pure, Pure Pro and Pure+ are the bamboo-charcoal climb. Every card links the full review and the live OTTY product page.

Who slept on them
Quotes are compressed. The long versions sit on each product page. Someone on this desk disliked Extra Firm. That is the point of a panel.

James Wright
~13st · back/side · hot sleeper · former Silentnight QC
“Original is the OTTY I would actually order. Aura is a guest-room bed. Extra Firm is a different product, not “Original plus a bit”. Pure is Original’s bounce with charcoal foam. I would not pay Pure+ money just because 4,000 is a bigger number.”

Sarah Mitchell
Founder · lighter mixed sleeper · Telegraph sleep desk for years before this site
“I wanted bounce I could turn over on, not a hug that held my shoulder. Original did that. Pure felt a notch softer and I still preferred the knitted Original cover. Aura left my hip perched after a week in the spare room.”

Emma Thompson
Side sleeper · GHI consumer-testing background · the Extra Firm holdout
“Do not put me on Extra Firm again. Nine and ten out of ten is a back-sleeper’s idea of comfort. On my side it was a shoulder bruise by 2am. Pure+ is the boxed OTTY that actually gave my shoulder somewhere to go.”

David Patel
15st+ · back/stomach · Which? testing background · not an Aura customer
“Aura bottomed out under me. Original was acceptable. Extra Firm is the one I kept — I actually want a hard bed, and I will flip it. If you are my weight and you think Aura is a bargain, it is a bargain for someone else.”

Rachel Adams
Registered physiotherapist · combination sleeper · shares a bed
“A 100-night trial is short next to Emma or Nectar. Use it properly. Original is the couple’s default. Extra Firm only if both of you asked for firm, in writing. Pure Pro if one of you wanted charcoal and a second spring layer without Pure+ height.”
OTTY by how you actually sleep
Where each of our testers would start, by how they actually sleep.
Side sleepers
Emma Thompson is the side sleeper on this desk. Original’s 7/10 was usable. Pure+ at about 5.5/10 was the boxed OTTY that actually gave her shoulder somewhere to go — 28cm, extra-deep sheets, no small double. Aura was too shallow for a main bed. Extra Firm was a hard no. If you only sleep on your side and you liked the idea of charcoal without Pure+ height, Pure is the 6.5/10 middle.
Back sleepers
I sleep back-to-side. Original kept my lumbar honest without the “hotel board” trick. David, who is heavier and more of a dedicated back/stomach sleeper, wanted Extra Firm and kept it. Pure Pro’s dual springs feel busier than Original without automatically being better for a back. If you have never liked a 9/10 mattress, do not buy Extra Firm as a posture project.
Stomach sleepers
Stomach sleep needs the hips up. Pure+’s 5.5/10 is the wrong direction. Original can work if you are lighter and you already like a 7/10 hybrid. Heavier stomach sleepers on this desk land on Extra Firm. Flip it. Use the trial. If even 9/10 still hammocks, OTTY is not hiding a 12/10 in the Pure line.
Combination sleepers
Rachel turns over. Original’s bounce under foam is why it is the default. Aura telegraphs the thinner spring unit when you roll. Pure+ is slower and taller — fine if you wanted that, annoying if you wanted to change position without climbing out of a well. Couples: agree on Extra Firm in writing or do not buy it.
OTTY by body weight
Stone, not a morality tale. David is the 15st+ Extra Firm customer. Aura is not his bargain.
| Weight | What I would try first | Skip |
|---|---|---|
| Under ~10st | Original, or Pure if you wanted charcoal. Aura only as a guest bed. Pure+ if you are a dedicated side sleeper who will buy extra-deep sheets. | Extra Firm unless you already sleep on something board-hard |
| ~10–13st (James) | Original Hybrid is the adult default. Pure Pro if you specifically wanted the extra comfort-spring layer. | Aura as a nightly main bed; Pure+ just because 4,000 is a bigger advert |
| ~13–15st | Original still. Extra Firm if you already know you want 9/10. Do not split the difference by buying Aura and hoping. | Pure+ as a support story — it is the softest boxed OTTY |
| ~15st+ (David) | Extra Firm. He kept it. Original was acceptable. Aura bottomed out. | Aura. Guest-room money is not a heavier-sleeper strategy |
The case against OTTY
- The trial is 100 nights, not 200. Emma, Eve and Simba give you twice as long. Nectar sells a year. OTTY will collect the bed for free if you send it back, which is the bit that actually matters, but you still have a shorter window to decide. If you are a slow adapter, that is a real cost.
- Size pickers are not the same across the shop. Need a UK small double? Original and Pure (and Pure Pro) are the conversation. Aura, Extra Firm and Pure+ do not list one. Need Emperor or EU? Pure Pro drops those. Cheap Aura is not a small-double Aura.
- Extra Firm will hurt the wrong sleeper. Emma lasted one side-sleeping night and wanted it out of the room. Marketing the model as “OTTY Firm” does not make it Original-plus. It is 9/10 or 10/10. David wanted that. Most people who wander in from an Original tab do not.
Trial, delivery, warranty, finance
100-night trial
From delivery. Free collection if you send it back. Shorter than the 200-night brands. Use it.
- Give it more than a weekend — week one often feels odd
- Do not wait until night 99 because you were busy
- A protector is sensible and does not replace reading their current returns page
Boxed 2-man drop
Boxed hybrids arrive vacuum-packed. OTTY advertises free 2-man delivery. That is the van, not a concierge service.
- Two people at the door is the advertised default
- Room-of-choice is extra at checkout
- Old-mattress removal is extra at checkout
10-year warranty
Defects, not “I stopped liking the feel in year four.” Read the live PDF on otty.com.
- Rotate it. Use a proper base. Keep the receipt
- Ordinary softening is not a manufacturing fault

OTTY advertises 0% through Zopa and DivideBuy over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. They do not publish a representative APR or a monthly example, and there is no stated credit score.
If you need the monthly figure, the checkout will show it. Credit is still credit. Compare it with paying the sale ticket in one go — on 5 September 2026 that sale was 8% off over £400 with DREAMY26, until it was not.

OTTY vs Emma, Simba, Eve, Nectar, Silentnight
We do not publish a blended brand score. Compare construction, trial length and each brand’s default mattress instead. Simba Hybrid vs OTTY Original Hybrid is the buy-which page for the two volume sellers.
| Brand | Default we would try | Trial | Warranty | Honest trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OTTY | Original Hybrid · 4.4/5 · from £499.99 | 100 nights | 10 years | Shorter trial; clear Extra Firm model if you actually want hard |
| Emma | Original · often cheaper on a sale | 200 nights | 10 years | Longer trial; naming is a hall of mirrors |
| Simba | Hybrid / Hybrid Pro — dearer micro-spring story | 200 nights | 10 years | More hotel-coil feel; you pay for it |
| Eve | Original Hybrid if you wanted Eve foam plus bounce | 200 nights | 10 years | Bensons / Huntingdon network; different foam recipe |
| Nectar | Classic Hybrid if you wanted the year-long trial | 365 nights | Forever (defects) | Longest trial; US-owned boxed brand. Full Nectar vs OTTY → |
| Silentnight | Shop-floor lie-down · Lift Replenish / UltraGel / hotel 2.0 | 60 nights (100 Studio) | 5 years most | Wins the store test; we have not slept on the current product pages |
When I would still buy OTTY
You want a UK company you can phone on 0113, a 2-man boxed drop, and Original’s 7/10 bounce without talking yourself into Emma Performance or a Simba Pro ticket. You will use 100 nights. You might actually want Extra Firm, which most rivals bury as “firm-ish”.
When I would walk
You need 200 nights to make a decision — compare Eve vs OTTYinstead. You need a UK small double and you were about to click Aura. You sleep on your side and someone said Extra Firm was “supportive”. You wanted handmade wool — that is Natural Evolve, not the boxed range. Still choosing a type? hybrid vs memory foam.
OTTY vs Silentnight — buy OTTY unless you need a shop-floor sit
James Wright used to work in Silentnight QC. For a boxed hybrid tonight he still opens Original first.

OTTY mattress FAQ
Final verdict
I would buy OTTY for a typical UK couple who will use the trial, starting with the Original Hybrid at 4.4/5. I would buy Extra Firm for David, not for Emma. I would put Aura in a spare room. I would not climb the Pure ladder because 3,000 and 4,000 are bigger adverts. Handmade Natural is a different shop. Ice is a cover. Keep the receipt. Phone 01133 202 490 if the van story goes sideways.
Default pick: Original Hybrid, 4.4/5, from £499.99. We do not publish a fake brand average.
