I have cut open enough boxed hybrids to be bored of “springs plus foam.” Most of them are a thin comfort pad sitting on a spring unit that was specified by a spreadsheet. This one is the first Eve I would put in my own room. Graphite Floatfoam holds you. Then 1,400-odd full-size pocket springs, 12cm of them, tell the hug where to stop. That is a different bed from Original Hybrid, which I also slept on in the same alcove and sent back. I am 86kg / 13st 8lb — the lead, not the 104kg tester.
The room did the rest of the testing. Sandstone tenement, thin plaster, the neighbour’s telly, a kitchen through a hall so short you can hear the kettle click from the pillow. Rachel Adams at 68kg / 10st 10lb used that 5am shift as the motion test. David Patel at 104kg / 16st 5lb sat on the edge and still wanted Simba’s sit — but he is a customer here: he wanted springs on the foam models, and this 1,400-coil stop is the one a 104kg back can actually load. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb liked the graphite and still said it was not AirGrid; Original Hybrid already hugged her shoulder, so she may be paying for coils she does not need. Emma Thompson at 71kg / 11st 2lb never got a fair night because Eve does not list a single on this model, and her box-room is 90cm. All of that can be true on the same mattress. Forty-two kilograms is why David uses the stop and Sarah may keep the cheaper hybrid.
We paid for it. Eve does not get a preview. Which? calling it a Best Buy is worth a mention, but it is not why we rate it. Below is what the stack actually does, three nights from that close, and the three reasons not to buy it.
Quick verdict for UK buyers
Best Eve we have used. Still 4.4/5, not 5 — because a couples mattress that skips Single is a hole, because Original Hybrid does most of the bounce for hundreds less, and because a Wunderflip unzip is a different product you may not need. The clever bit is not a slogan: graphite in the hug and a full-size spring count that actually damps a partner getting up for a kettle. This is the Eve for heat, edges and heavier backs — springs under 28cm foam.
Medium-firm. 28cm. Which? has had this hybrid on Best Buy lists for years; treat that as a useful aside, not a reason to skip the trial. Eve advertised it from £1,049 on 19 August 2026. Basket discounts are the real till. Use the 200 nights like an adult, not a weekend lie-in.
Bottom line: two people on a Double, King or Super King who like Eve foam and want bounce underneath — this is the Eve. David Patel at 104kg / 16st 5lb is often a buy on a sale: he wanted springs on the foam models, and this coil stop is the one his back actually loads. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb should trial Original Hybrid first — if that already hugged, she is paying for 1,400 coils she may never need. Need a single, or you are buying height because the word Premium is on the box — look at Original Hybrid, or admit you wanted a Simba edge.
Buy it for this body, not because the box says Premium

- You already tried Original Hybrid and wanted more hold and a quieter partner.
- You will use the 200-night UK trial and wait for Eve’s basket discount rather than the from-price on a Tuesday.
- You are around 104kg / 16st 5lb on your back — David Patel’s build — and you wanted springs on the foam models. This coil stop is the one a 104kg torso can actually load.

The clever bit: graphite Floatfoam plus 1,400 springs
Two tricks, stacked, not one dressed up twice. Floatfoam is Eve’s open-cell comfort layer — it wraps a shoulder instead of bouncing you like a hotel hybrid. Graphite mixed through the memory foam gives heat a conductive path out of that wrap, so you are less likely to wake in a warm crater. Underneath, a 12cm unit of 1,400+ full-size pocket springs does the job a foam-only Premium cannot: push-back, airflow through the core, and a pocket that dies a partner’s roll before it crosses the bed. That coil stop is why David Patel at 104kg / 16st 5lb is a customer here. All-foam Premium swallowed his hips. This unit said stop.
Original Hybrid already has 12cm springs. It does not have this spring count, and it does not have the graphite hug. That is why I kept this one at 86kg / 13st 8lb. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb already got the hug on Original Hybrid — extra coils a 104kg back loads are coils she may never reach. Wunderflip Premium also lives at 28cm and also costs flagship money, but the clever bit there is a zip and a flip. This mattress is one-sided on purpose. If you do not have a firmness argument to settle, do not buy a two-person unzip.
Sarah put the cooling limit in one line: the graphite is real physics, and it is still not Emma’s AirGrid. Conduct versus vent. Hug versus float. Mix those up and you will buy the wrong bed while staring at a Which? badge. Magazines are a supporting aside. The springs under David’s hip at 104kg were not.
Nights from a Glasgow tenement
Second-floor close, sandstone, thin walls, no air-con, a king that filled the alcove with about a hand of spare. The kettle lives in a galley you can hear from the pillow. Not a lab. That is the point.

Why 62kg and 104kg disagree
Sarah Mitchell sleeps at 62kg / 9st 11lb. David Patel sleeps at 104kg / 16st 5lb — 42kg more on the same surface. That is not a rounding error. A heavier torso compresses foam further before the springs (or the next foam layer) say stop. A mattress that cradles Sarah’s shoulder can become a crater under David’s hips. A mattress that holds David’s lumbar can feel perched to Sarah. James Wright, the lead reviewer, is 86kg / 13st 8lb — between them, which is why his score is often the household average and not the last word.

The case against the Premium Hybrid
We give it 4.4/5. The missing points are not rounding errors. This is the best Eve we have used. It is still a product with holes. Forty-two kilograms between Sarah at 62kg and David at 104kg is one of them — he uses the coil stop; she may be paying for it.
- There is no single. Live sizes on 19 August 2026: Double, King, Super King. Emma Thompson at 71kg / 11st 2lb needed 90cm for a box-room. Original Hybrid still prints a single. A “best Eve” that you cannot put in the room you have is not a 5.
- The price jump versus Original Hybrid is real — especially at 62kg. Original Hybrid starts from £699. This starts from £1,049 advertised. Same brand, same 12cm spring height, fewer springs and no graphite hug on the cheaper one. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb already got the hug there; extra coils a 104kg back loads are coils she may never need. Plenty of typical UK sleepers will not feel £350+ of difference. James at 86kg / 13st 8lb did. David at 104kg / 16st 5lb did, because he wanted springs on the foam models. That does not make you James, and it does not make you David.
- Wunderflip faff you may not need. If you cannot agree on firmness, the zip-off Wunderflip Premium exists. It is also 28cm and also flagship money. If you already like this medium-firm hug, do not buy a two-person unzip because the name sounds like a gadget. You will not flip it. You will resent the handles.

Eve sells this as a 28cm hybrid. I count five foam jobs plus the spring unit, then the bits that stop it sliding and the handles you actually use at 5am. Top to bottom, this is the stack we slept on — not a Wunderflip core you unzip on a Saturday.

Foams are CertiPUR. Cover is not the Purotex+ story Eve prints on Wunderflip. Do not buy this because you wanted the allergy-cover headline; buy it because you wanted the hug-plus-springs stack. UK-made at Huntingdon under Bensons. That is logistics, not a comfort score.
Firmness: medium-firm, not a cloud and not a plank
Eve prints medium-firm. I would not sell it as a hotel marshmallow or as an orthopaedic board. You get an immediate Floatfoam wrap, then the 1,400 pockets refuse to turn it into a hammock. I landed about 6.5–7/10 at 86kg / 13st 8lb. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb (lighter, side) read it as holding — and may already have had that hug on Original Hybrid. David Patel at 104kg / 16st 5lb (back, sits on the edge) read it as the coil stop the foam models never gave him, then “fine until I compared Simba.” That is body weight, not a broken unit. Forty-two kilograms is why one number on Eve’s site cannot describe both nights: he uses the stop; she pays for coils she may not load.
If you currently sleep on Original foam, this will feel taller, bouncier, and more “mattress.” If you like a polymer grid that pops you back up, you will keep reaching for Emma Elite. If you wanted two firmnesses in one zip, you walked into the wrong aisle — that is Wunderflip, and you will actually have to flip it.

Unbox with two people up a close — a king in a box is a two-person job even with handles. 28cm needs extra-deep sheets. Slats no more than 7cm apart. 200 nights, 10-year guarantee. Durability and care
- Rotate monthly for six months, then every few months, using the side handles. Do not flip — that is Wunderflip’s job.
- Use a protector that is not plastic-backed. Do not steam the foams.
- Unbox within Eve’s stated window or you can void guarantee terms.
- The 10-year cover is defects, not “the hug felt different after a sale.” Comfort preference is the 200 nights.
Full-size pocket springs in a foam casing should outlast a thin all-foam Premium if the slats are honest. We did sleep on it long enough to know the edge did not collapse in a tenement alcove. That is the honest limit of the claim.
Unboxing, base and sheets
It arrived vacuum-rolled, via the Bensons network, with the usual “we are 40 minutes away” call. A Glasgow close is not a showroom lift. Two people. Cut the wrap on the base, not on a stair you then have to drag it up. Give it 24–72 hours to reach 28cm before you decide it is “too firm” or “too warm.” New-foam smell for a couple of days; window on the back court. CertiPUR is not a perfume. We did not sleep on it the afternoon we cut the plastic.
Eve wants slats no more than 7cm apart and at least 3cm wide. An old sagging sprung base is part of the feel, not a free foundation. Depth is 28cm — buy extra-deep sheets with a 35cm pocket once you add a protector. Side handles help you rotate; they do not make a short sheet stay on.

Free collection in the first 40 nights. About £40 collection after that. Eve wants ~30 nights before you decide. Graphite hug needs more than a long weekend.
10-year guarantee
Material defects in the spring core and foams. Normal comfort change is not a defect. Unbox in Eve’s window.
Delivery
Free to most UK mainland addresses, typically 3–7 working days, rolled in a box, via Bensons. You can also lie on Eve in many Bensons shops.
Basket discounts
Eve auto-applies cuts once you clear a spend threshold (often around 45%). The from-price on the tile is not the till. Check the live basket.
Which? Best Buy is a useful clip. It is not a substitute for 30 nights in your own close. Bensons ownership is why the factory is in Huntingdon and why you can sit on one in a shop. The home trial is still the product.
UK sizes and prices (August 2026)
Eve’s product page listed the Premium Hybrid from £1,049 including VAT when we checked. That is the advertised from-price, not a promise that King and Super King stay there once the configurator loads. Eve auto-applies basket discounts. Always open the live page. Do not pay the full advertised number on a Tuesday if the basket will cut it.

James at 86kg / 13st 8lb kept Premium Hybrid. Most people should still start on Original Hybrid, especially if they need a single or they will not spend the jump. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb is the one who should start cheaper — Original Hybrid already hugged her. David Patel at 104kg / 16st 5lb is the reason this model exists: he wanted springs on the foam models, and 1,400 coils are the stop a 104kg back actually loads. Wunderflip Premium is only worth it if you will actually unzip it.

Final verdict
I would buy this for a couple I liked, on a Double or King, after Eve’s basket discount, with the 200 nights in writing — especially if one of you is closer to David Patel at 104kg / 16st 5lb and wanted springs on the foam models. I kept it over Original Hybrid in a Glasgow tenement at 86kg / 13st 8lb because the graphite hug and the 1,400 springs damped a 5am kettle-run. I would not buy it because Which? printed Best Buy. I would not buy it for a box-room that needs a single. Sarah Mitchell at 62kg / 9st 11lb still wanted AirGrid, and she may already have been hugged on Original Hybrid — extra coils a 104kg back uses as a stop are coils she may never load. David still wanted Simba’s edge while remaining a customer here. Emma Thompson at 71kg / 11st 2lb never got a night. That 42kg disagreement is the review.
