Simba or Silentnight — which should I buy in the UK?

Simba, for most people who will buy online and use a trial. Start on the Simba Hybrid (25cm, from £699 on 19 August 2026, 200 nights, 10 years). We have slept on that range. Silentnight is the high-street / hotel / latex job: shorter trial (60 nights on the live Silentnight.co.uk models), 5-year warranty, and we have not slept on Lift Replenish Hybrid 2000, UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000, or Premier Inn Mattress 2.0. Buy Silentnight only when that is the job you are actually shopping for — not because the name is on the van.

Simba Hybrid vs Silentnight Lift Replenish Hybrid 2000 — which hybrid?

Different physics and different paperwork. Simba Hybrid is Aerocoil microsprings near the sleep surface, 25cm, from £699, 200 nights, 10 years — and we have slept on it. Lift Replenish is latex + EcoMemory Fibre over 2000 Mirapocket springs, from £569 on 2 September 2026, 60 nights, 5 years — height not printed, we have not slept on it. Buy Simba if you want bounce we have felt and a long trial. Open Lift only if you specifically want latex over a named 2000-spring unit, and you will genuinely use the 60 nights.

Simba Hybrid vs Silentnight Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 — is the hotel bed better?

Only if what you want is the Premier Inn bed, officially. Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 is Silentnight’s partnership model: 28.5cm pillowtop, 1,000 Mirapocket springs, Geltex, from £649, 6-year guarantee, no advertised sleep trial on the live shop. We have not slept on it. Simba Hybrid is a boxed hotel-bounce hybrid we have used, with 200 nights in writing. If you already liked that hotel night, buy 2.0. If you wanted a trial and a mattress we have actually slept on, buy Simba.

Simba Hybrid vs Silentnight UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000?

UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000 is the live Silentnight.co.uk cooling 3000 — not the older Geltex Ultra 3000 listing. 37cm pillowtop, 2,000 Mirapocket plus 1,000 mini springs, Soft or Firm, from £789 on 2 September 2026, 60 nights, 5 years. We have not slept on it. Simba Hybrid is 25cm, one Aerocoil layer, from £699, 200 nights. Buy UltraGel if you want a tall cool-to-touch pillowtop you can pick Soft or Firm on, and you accept a short trial. Buy Simba if you wanted bounce we have felt without a 37cm sheet tax.

Which Simba should I buy if I already picked Simba?

Hybrid for most people near James at 86kg / 13st 8lb. Essential (20cm, from £549) is the guest or bunk mattress — too thin for David at 104kg / 16st 5lb on a master bed. Pro (28cm, from £899) is the one we kept for couples and for David’s hips and sitting edge. Luxe and Ultra add height you then have to buy sheets for. Is Silentnight cheaper than Simba?

Sometimes on the ticket, rarely on the paperwork. Lift Replenish from £569 undercuts Hybrid at £699. UltraGel from £789 sits between Hybrid and Pro. Premier Inn 2.0 from £649 looks cheaper than Hybrid until you notice there is no advertised sleep trial. Simba’s 200 nights and 10 years are the product. Silentnight’s 60 nights and 5 years are a retailer-class ticket. Do not buy Silentnight to “save £130” if you will not use a short trial.

Can I lie on these in a shop first?

Silentnight is the high-street brand. Dreams, John Lewis and independent bed shops still put Silentnight units on the floor — not always the exact Lift / UltraGel / Premier Inn model on our pages. Simba Hybrid is in John Lewis on some floors. A ten-minute sit is not a week in a warm terrace. Use the trial you actually get: 200 nights at Simba-direct, 60 on Silentnight.co.uk, none advertised on Premier Inn 2.0.

Which is better for couples?

Simba Hybrid Pro if motion isolation and a firm sitting edge are what you need — dual Aerocoil plus wool, the Simba David at 104kg / 16st 5lb left Hybrid for. Rachel at 68kg / 10st 10lb is the kettle-at-5am veto: Hybrid motion is good, not magic. Silentnight’s 2000- and 3000-spring stories look like couple beds on paper. We have not slept on those models. Do not buy a 1,000-spring Premier Inn pillowtop hoping it isolates like a boxed hybrid we have used.

Which is better for a 104kg back sleeper?

David Patel is 104kg / 16st 5lb — the heavier tester, not James. On Simba he found Essential too thin, Hybrid enough for a lie-down, Pro the one he would keep for hips and the sitting morning. Silentnight Lift’s 2000 Mirapocket plus latex looks better on paper for him than a thin boxed slab, but we have not slept on it. If you are David’s weight and you want a score from an actual night, start on Simba Pro. If you want Silentnight, use the 60 nights or wait.

Simba vs Silentnight trial and warranty in the UK?

Simba-direct: 200 nights, free collection on their terms, 10-year manufacturing warranty. Silentnight.co.uk Lift and UltraGel: 60-night sleep guarantee, 5-year warranty, made to order, about 14 days. Premier Inn Mattress 2.0: 6-year guarantee, no advertised sleep trial on the live Hotel to Home shop — UK unused-goods rights are not a slept-on refund. Buy from John Lewis or Dreams and read that seller’s ticket. It is not automatically the brand-direct trial.

Should I wait for a sale?

Yes on Simba. Hybrid advertised from £699 for a single on 19 August 2026; kings and “overstock” tickets move. Do not pay the flashed RRP on a Tuesday. I spent a decade in Silentnight QC. I would still buy the Simba Hybrid on a sale for my own king at 86kg / 13st 8lb. That is the 200-night trial and a mattress we have actually slept on — not a slam on Barnoldswick. Silentnight Lift, UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000 and Premier Inn 2.0 are current UK mattresses we have not slept on, so use Silentnight’s own trial rather than our word.

I know what a Silentnight pocket unit looks like when you cut the tape. I spent ten years on that floor. That does not give me a free night on the current Lift, UltraGel or Premier Inn 2.0. We have not bought those three and slept on them, so there is no Silentnight bedroom score from us yet — what you get below is the published specification and the names, so you do not end up buying a discontinued one.

The Simba Hybrid sat on my own king in a Bristol terrace: no air-con, late August, 10.5 tog. Aerocoil high enough that you feel bounce and air, not a memory crater with a spring secret. I would buy that Simba on a sale. Sarah at 62kg / 9st 11lb called it hotel-like and still wanted more shoulder give. David at 104kg / 16st 5lb — not me — left for Pro. Emma at 71kg / 11st 2lb is the heat veto; she stayed. Rachel at 68kg / 10st 10lb is the kettle-at-5am check. That panel is a Simba night. It is not a Silentnight night.

So the buy is simple. Want a hybrid we have used and a 200-night net? Open Simba. Want the official Premier Inn bed, a latex 2000, or a 37cm Soft/Firm pillowtop, and you will live with 60 nights or no advertised trial? Open that Silentnight model and use the paperwork. Do not split the difference because both logos are British.

These three are current Silentnight mattresses, so we list them — but nobody on our panel has slept on one. The ratings come from the published specification and the photos are catalogue images. An old Geltex Ultra memory is not the UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000, and a Premier Inn stay in 2019 is not Mattress 2.0 in your bedroom.

Skip Simba if…

You want latex. Simba does not sell that job. That is Lift — untested, 60 nights.
You want the official Premier Inn bed. Simba bounce is not a hotel partnership model.
You are Sarah at 62kg / 9st 11lb on your side and Hybrid already felt perched — Pro or Luxe, or a hug brand, not a Silentnight guess.
You refuse to buy boxed and you can lie on the exact Silentnight model in a shop this week.

Skip Silentnight if…

You need a 200-night cash-back-style trial. You do not have one on these models.
You want a score from someone who has actually slept on it. We have not, on any of the three.
You are buying Geltex Ultra 3000 off an old round-up. The live cooling 3000 is UltraGel Cool-to-touch. Different page.
