I know what a Silentnight pocket-spring unit looks like when you cut the tape. I spent a decade on that factory floor in Barnoldswick. Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 is a real current UK model: Silentnight’s Hotel to Home page sells it as the bed they built with the UK’s largest hotel chain, and the shop they link to prints the same 2.0 name, a 1,000-spring Mirapocket story, Geltex, and 28.5cm.
I am 86kg / 13st 8lb — the lead reviewer, not the 104kg tester. David Patel is 104kg / 16st 5lb. Sarah Mitchell is 62kg / 9st 11lb. None of us have a night on this pillowtop in a UK bedroom. There is no muggy Manchester week or shoulder verdict from us on this one. Those pages exist because we slept there. This one exists because the mattress is on sale in the UK and you asked for a real buying guide.
What I can do is read the live stack the way I used to read a spec sheet on the line: spring count, Geltex versus fibre, pillowtop height, edge wire, SmartShield, guarantee, missing trial. If you already woke up in a Premier Inn and wanted that bed at home, this is the official product. If you wanted us to tell you how it felt at 2am, wait — we have not earned that sentence yet.
Quick verdict for UK buyers
Buy this if what you want is the Premier Inn bed, officially. Silentnight is not being cute with the name. The live product page is Premier Inn Mattress 2.0. 28.5cm, medium/firm, 1,000 Mirapocket springs, Geltex for movement, a pillowtop for the hotel sink, full-perimeter support, UK made, six-year guarantee, from £649 for a single on .
Skip it if you need a printed sleep trial, a 4ft frame, or a 2,000-spring Silentnight you can lie on in a high-street store first. It scores 4/5 on the specification alone. The missing points are the missing trial, the hotel-grade spring count, and the fact that £649 for a single is a lot of money for a bed nobody here has slept on.
Bottom line: hotel memory, official model, honest gap. Do not pay this ticket because a review invented a week in Croydon. We did not have one.

- You can live with a 6-year guarantee and no advertised 100- or 200-night trial.
Skip this if
- You need a sleep trial you can actually use. This shop does not print one.
- Your frame is a UK small double. The live picker does not list 4ft.
- You wanted Silentnight’s 2,000 or 3,000 spring Geltex story, not a 1,000-spring hotel unit.

What “2.0” actually is
Silentnight’s Hotel to Home page is the brand story: Premier Inn mattress 2.0, 1,000 individually responsive springs, a Geltex layer for pressure relief and movement, made in the UK, six-year guarantee, “in over 80,000 rooms.” The shop button goes to Premier Inn At Home. That product page’s name, schema and analytics item_name are all Premier Inn Mattress 2.0. That is the live UK name. We are not renaming it for SEO.
Geltex is the clever bit I can explain without a night. It is Silentnight’s gel foam: open enough to bounce back when you turn, not a slow crater. On Ultra 3000 it sits over a much bigger spring count. Here it sits over a 1,000-spring Mirapocket unit with a hotel pillowtop above it. The pillowtop is polyester fibre, not a second Geltex slab. “Memory layer” on this page is also polyester fibre — snug, not viscoelastic memory foam.
Edge copy is unusually specific for a hotel bed: full perimeter support, inset frame wire, “won’t sag when you sit on the edge.” That is the sitting-morning claim David would test at 104kg / 16st 5lb. We have not sat on it. I will not pretend I put socks on in a Barnoldswick sample room.

Our Emma and OTTY reviews describe specific nights because those mattresses went into real bedrooms. This one has not, so the image is a catalogue photo and the scores come from the construction — not from Sarah’s shoulder or David’s hips.
What we cannot tell you yet
No 2am kick-off. No wool smell. No coil map under 62kg / 9st 11lb. No sitting-edge shrug from 104kg / 16st 5lb. No Emma Thompson heatwave veto. Rachel Adams has not checked alignment on this pillowtop. James has not rotated it on a slatted base.
If another site has published a review based on a hotel stay, that is their night in a hotel — not this mattress in your house.
Who we would put on it first
James at 86kg / 13st 8lb, back to side, because a medium/firm hotel hybrid is normally his kind of bed. Sarah at 62kg / 9st 11lb on her side, because a pillowtop either gives her a shoulder or it does not. We give it 4/5, and the missing points are not rounding errors.
- No advertised sleep trial. Silentnight’s Hotel to Home page sells confidence with a factory, a hotel chain and a six-year guarantee. It does not sell 60 or 100 nights in your house. A hotel stay is not a trial of the mattress they ship to you.
- 1,000 springs is the hotel count, not the flagship count. Mirapocket 2000 and Geltex Ultra 3000 exist on the same brand hub. If you were buying spring count, you were in the wrong aisle.
- We have not slept on it. A 4.0 from a spec sheet is a bookmark, not a week in a terrace. If you need a named night, wait or pick a model we have already put bodies on.

Firmness
Silentnight prints medium/firm and “perfect for those who switch positions through the night.” That is the only firmness number we will defend. Hotel beds in this class often feel firmer than a boxed medium once you are off the pillowtop and onto the unit. They can also feel plusher than a showroom Mirapocket in the first inch. Both can be true. We have not split the difference with a body.
James at 86kg / 13st 8lb is the combination sleeper this label is written for. Sarah at 62kg / 9st 11lb on her side is the person who finds “medium/firm” perched. David at 104kg / 16st 5lb on his back is the person who finds the same label soft once Geltex and fibre have moved. Until those nights exist, use the brand line or the hotel you already slept in — not a 6.5/10 we invented.

Bed base, slats and sheets
Silentnight’s usual UK advice for pocket-spring mattresses still applies: a supportive slatted base (slats close enough that a spring cannot dive), a solid platform, or a divan. The same Hotel to Home shop sells a matching Premier Inn divan and mattress set if you wanted the hotel pair. We have not assembled that set.
Depth is 28.5cm before a protector. Standard 25cm “hotel” sheets will ping. Buy extra-deep pockets (about 35cm) and fit them after the mattress has sat on the base. Silentnight does not print a weight for the boxed mattress.
Durability, care, rotate vs flip
A pillowtop hybrid of this class is almost always single-sided. Rotate head-to-toe. Do not flip unless the care label on the unit you receive says so — we have not read a sewn-in label. Use a protector. Do not steam the Geltex or the fibre pillowtop.
SmartShield with permethrin is a hotel hygiene layer, not a washable zip-off cover like OTTY Aura. If you wanted to launder the ticking at 40°C, this is the wrong Silentnight. The 6-year guarantee is the durability window they will talk about; ordinary softening is not a manufacturing fault.

From-price is the single: £649. A double at £799 is the ticket most UK couples will actually see. Cost-per-night only makes sense if you keep it. There is no advertised trial to cheapen a wrong guess. Always check live.

Mirapocket 1200 is the traditional Silentnight on the brand hub: more springs on the name, no Premier Inn pillowtop, usually a retailer you can lie on. Premier Inn 2.0 is the hotel partnership model. Do not treat 1,000 hotel springs as a downgrade of 1,200 showroom springs without a night — they are different products.
Vs Silentnight Geltex Ultra 3000
Both use Geltex. Ultra 3000 is the higher spring-count hybrid. 2.0 is the hotel pillowtop at 28.5cm with 1,000 springs. If you wanted Geltex and a spring ladder, Ultra is the named climb. If you wanted the hotel bed, stay here.
Vs Emma Original (boxed rival with a trial)
