Is Emma Original the same as Hypnos Orthos Support?

No. Emma Original is a 25cm single-sided boxed hybrid: MemoryAdapt foam over zoned springs, delivered in a box, 200-night trial if you buy from Emma. Hypnos Orthos Support is a traditional 27–28cm pocket-spring collection (6, 7 and 8-turn ReActive), hand-tufted in Princes Risborough, usually firm or extra firm, and sold through retailers. You are not choosing a logo. You are choosing a construction.

I searched Emma vs Tempur. Why am I seeing Hypnos?

Tempur is not a live model in our UK catalog. Brook + Wilde is not either. Hypnos is the strongest premium handmade rival we actually list against Emma. What is the trial on Emma vs Hypnos in the UK?

Emma: 200 nights from delivery if you buy from Emma. They collect it free. Hypnos: the factory does not run a comfort trial. Retailers do — John Lewis often 60 nights with a protector and an exchange, some independents none. Read the seller, not a blog that says “all Hypnos include 60 nights”. Give either bed weeks, not a long weekend.

Should I buy Emma Original Elite or Hypnos Woolton instead?

Only after this pair was wrong. Elite is the AirGrid cooling hug if Original cooked you and you are a side sleeper on a sale. Woolton (and the current Wool Origins line) is the medium wool Hypnos if Orthos Support was too firm in the shop. Do not climb because the word Elite or Royal is on the ticket.

Prices move. Emma’s 200 nights are the product if you buy from Emma. Hypnos’ 10-year card is not a 200-night hug refund. Read the shop that takes your card.

What it actually felt like

Emma is the sink. Hypnos is the floor you meant to buy. On Original I drop through MemoryAdapt, then the zoned springs say enough. On Orthos Support I stay on the ReActive core. I can turn on both at 86kg. I would tell a typical household to spend the Emma sale money and stop. I would put Hypnos on a bed only if we had already agreed we wanted a firm British spring and we had lain on it in a shop.

Sarah Mitchell, 62kg, side, sore shoulder. She wanted give. Emma’s foam slab was the kinder of the two. Still not a pressure-relief specialist — that is Elite on a sale. Orthos left her perched. If your shoulder is why you are shopping, do not pay a Hypnos ticket hoping wool equals cushion. Ask for the wool / medium line in the shop, or stay on Emma.

Emma Thompson, 71kg, side-dominant, runs warm. Emma’s medium-firm badge oversold lumbar hold on a sticky night. She kicked the duvet. Orthos held her better and the wool did not stew her the same way. She is not a lab probe. She is a hot sleeper in a room with no air-con.

Rachel Adams, 68kg, mixed positions, she tosses. Emma: she noticed a get-up less. Hypnos: she rolled without a crater, and she felt the other person. Pick the job. Do not buy “Royal Warrant” if hush is the job.

David Patel, 104kg, back. Emma can dump a heavier front sleeper — Emma’s own copy warns that group. His hips travelled. Orthos kept him more on top. If the shop’s extra-firm still felt shallow under the hips, that is a different Hypnos tension or a different brand, not a nicer cover on Emma.

Skip Hypnos Orthos Support if

You wanted Tempur slow-sink foam. Orthos is a firm spring. It will not hug like Cloud or Original foam.
You need a 200-night refund in writing from the brand. Hypnos does not sell that. The retailer does, or does not.
The ticket is the objection. From £1,499 on a double is not guest-room money. Emma undercuts it on purpose.

The bit competitors skip

Tempur is not on this site as a model. If that is the query you typed, Hypnos is the premium handmade rival we can actually compare. We do not cover Brook + Wilde either. An old Tempur sticker in a 2019 round-up is not a comparison you can shop today.
The trial is not a tie. 200 nights vs a retailer policy. You are not paying Hypnos for a longer undo. You are paying for springs a person built in Buckinghamshire.
Orthos Support is a collection. 6, 7 and 8-turn. Firm and extra firm. The catalog line is one name. The shop floor is three mattresses. Lie down. Do not mail-order extra firm because a table said “back pain”.
Forty-two kilograms is not a rounding error. Sarah at 62kg and David at 104kg slept on the same two ideas and disagreed. One household with that gap uses the trial — or the showroom — as the product.
